DIA Inside/Out Exhibit

HOWELL, MI - The Detroit Institute of Arts' (DIA) Inside/Out project, which debuted last fall, is back by popular demand. Last year, the DIA brought 40 reproductions of paintings from its collection to the streets and parks of the greater metro Detroit area. Celebrating the richness and diversity of the museum's extensive collection, the project connected with audiences outside the traditional museum walls in a grand, open air gallery. The unique exhibition aims to connect with audiences outside the museum walls, treating metro Detroit as a grand, open-air gallery, according to DIA officials.

Howell was recently selected to be one among the first communities to host seven works for art on exhibit from June through August, 2011.  The exhibit was installed on June 15th.

The Howell Main Street Design Committee will also be coordinating with the DIA marketing team to add additional public programs to coincide with the exhibit, including a walking tour, interactive social media elements, and other ways for people to discover the art.
