Howell Main Street DDA Volunteers Get Downtown Looking Festive for Fall

Downtown Howell Design Efforts Beautify District for Fall Season

Howell, MI – Residents and guests will notice a lot of activity on the main streets in downtown Howell today as the Howell Main Street DDA Design Committee, local Girl Scout troops, Howell High School Interact Club, and other community volunteers work to transition the downtown décor for the fall season.
“The Howell Main Street DDA Design Committee is in charge of the on-going efforts to create an inviting and attractive atmosphere for residents and visitors year-round.” states Howell’s Main Street DDA Director, Cathleen Edgerly. “We are so fortunate to have over 30 volunteers working with us today to plant the fall mums and put out the cornstalks, all making our downtown look festive for the fall season.  Thank you to the Kellogg Family Foundation for sponsoring these beautification efforts and to the dedicated Department of Public Services team for helping us coordinate the fall decorating day.”

This year’s fall décor is expected to beautify the downtown area in time for the beloved Legend of Sleepy Howell event, which is organized by the Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority.

“Today’s decorating day demonstrates the importance of the entire community coming together.  Downtown is something we are all very proud of, and the volunteers’ work today accentuates just how beautiful our downtown district is” explains Edgerly.

The Kellogg Family Foundation is a proud sponsor of the downtown summer and fall flowers. This community family foundation represents three generations in medicine, education and charity. This foundation exists because of the success, commitment and generosity of the benefactors Edward M. Kellogg and wife, June Ellen Kellogg.
The purpose to the foundation is to the support the goals and aspirations that the Kellogg’s had in their lifetimes. The Legacy will continue. These ideals will be directed, grown and supported by future Kellogg decedents and board members. The future board will carry on the wishes and generosity of the Edward and June Kellogg Family Dentistry Foundation.

We know that time is our most valuable asset; we are richer when we give it away!
