Father's Day Brings Film Favorite and Local Celebrity to Downtown Howell Theater

"Ask him and he will come", that's what Historic Howell Theater owner Tyler DePerro says about inviting your father to join you Father's Day Sunday, June 21, for the movie "Field of Dreams" showing at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

On his special day, fathers get in free at each of these three showings. The often quoted, "Build it and they will come," is a misquote, according to DePerro. It is actually correctly stated by the Voice in the movie as, "Build it and he will come."

Timothy Busfield, who stars in the film as Mark, Ray Kinella's brother-in-law played by Kevin Costner, will be appearing at The Historic Howell Theater 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18th and again Saturday, June 20th at 7 p.m. for questions and answers with the audience regarding Field of Dreams, which was nominated for three Academy Awards in 1990. Busfield, an area resident and friend of The Historic Howell Theater, has an impressive list of television and film credits. He plans to share his experience in making Field of Dreams with his audience this week.
Field of Dreams will be showing at The Historic Howell Theater this week Tuesday, June 16; Wednesday, June 17; Thursday, June 18, and Friday, June 19, at 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21 at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. A donation of 50 tickets has been given to Big Brothers & Big Sisters for this movie. In addition, $1 from each purchase of a large popcorn will be donated to the organization.
