Howell Main Street Inc. announced a new, year-round grant partnership with the Kellogg Family Foundation.  As a newly established non-profit, that historically was tied to the Howell Downtown Development Authority, Howell Main Street Inc. now relies on community support and grants to continue their efforts to positively position and grow our downtown through quality events, projects, preservation, and programming

“The Kellogg Family Foundation’s philosophy of supporting local programs will help further our efforts to promote and attract people to our central business district, ensuring the future success of our year-round projects and programming.” States Howell Main Street Inc. C.O.O., Cathleen Edgerly. We are pleased to have their support in the community. Having their support of not only the downtown beautification efforts, but the annual arts and cultural efforts, demonstrates their commitment to the community.”

This year’s grant from the Kellogg Family Foundation will support the following projects, and activities:

•    Downtown Beautification through Flower Pots, fall mums, and cornstalks
•    Lunar New Year Festival
•    Rock the Block music and foodie series
•    Howell Art Project, with 2 dimensional art, and all new 3D art installations
•    Applause Awards support
•    Food Truck Rally

The Kellogg Family Foundation presents three generations in medicine, education and charity. This foundation exists because of the success, commitment and generosity of the benefactors Edward M. Kellogg and wife, June Ellen Kellogg. The Kellogg Family Foundation's Focus Areas include:
I. Setting up dental/ missionary clinics in countries such as Mexico, South America or other underserved parts of the world

II. Support local programs

III. Support local churches and spiritual growth

IIII. Create opportunities for local organizations to branch into new areas of need and expand existing programs to serve more people

V. Provide education and support for our future generations through education initiatives and programs for area youth.

The purpose to the foundation is to the support the goals and aspirations that the Kellogg’s had in their lifetimes. The Legacy will continue. These ideals will be directed, grown and supported by future Kellogg decedents and board members. The future board will carry on the wishes and generosity of the Edward and June Kellogg Family Dentistry Foundation.
We know that time is our most valuable asset; we are richer when we give it away!
