Those looking to get a jump on their July 4 celebration can visit downtown Howell on the first of the month.
The second session of Rock the Block will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, bringing together music, food and special merchant promotions.
A new summer series, Rock the Block made its debut in June and will continue the first Wednesday of August.
The first session went well, Howell Downtown Development Authority Director Cathleen Edgerly said, and the second is adding some “tweaks,” including day-long and month-long merchant promotions.
Each Rock the Block features four musical acts performing free shows at four separate venues.Acts, musical styles and locations for Wednesday’s event include: Jennifer Westwood and the Handsome Devils, outlaw country, at the Historic Howell Theater; Ted J. Reed, Americana; at the The Opera House; The Jalopy Brothers, “speakeasy jazz,” outside 2FOGS Pub; and Reeds & Steel, acoustic music; at the Cobb Hall Patio.
