Carol Royse, from Travel Michigan, will be at the Lansing Community College – Howell Campus for a free workshop on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.. Area business owners and managers will learn how to create and update listings on the Pure Michigan website: www.michigan.org. The Pure Michigan website, sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), is the number-one-visited travel/tourism website in the country. It is also the official Michigan travel website.
Tourism industry members, who fit the Pure Michigan criteria, are eligible for free promotional opportunities on the Pure Michigan website. This workshop will teach the mechanics of how to update or add listings on the Pure Michigan website, to include photos, events, and much more. The MEDC gathers data to report online activity to listed businesses quarterly.
This free educational opportunity is geared for those in the tourism industry including (but not limited to): hotel and lodging facilities, attractions, museums, festivals and events, golfing, dining and shopping, farmers markets and more. This event is sponsored by the Livingston County Visitors Bureau, Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, Howell Main Street and the Howell Carnegie District Library.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Limited seating for 24 is available. Those attending are encouraged to bring laptops, photos and details on current and future packages.
