Jedi Academy at the Howell Carnegie Library

*Pre-Registration is required, beginning March 1, 2016 starting at 10:00 am. (Registration takes place online, in-person at the Youth Services desk or by phone, call the library at 517-546-0720 ext. 107 to register.)

The first half hour, 5:30-6:00pm will be a demonstration. (Parents and siblings, in addition to registered participants, are invited to watch the demonstration.)

The second half hour, 6:00-6:30pm will be the hands-on workshop (only registered 8-16 year olds will be permitted in the room due to space contraints); here is a description of the workshop portion:
This class is an immersive experience for younglings to learn about the ways of the Jedi Knight. Initiates will enjoy lightsaber training (theatrical combat, not sparring), discuss Jedi philosophy, and train to allow the Force to flow through their bodies as they take their first steps to become Padawan learners. Class will be taught by Ring of Steel staff.

Please feel free to dress in your favorite Star Wars outfit but please leave your lightsabers at home as they will be provided and we don't want yours to get lost or damaged.
