Volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills, and knowledge to events and organizations in communities all over the world! This philosophy on volunteerism is vital to Howell Main Street's belief about what we need to provide the best services possible for the stakeholders in our community.
Rock the Block
Opportunities include helping with event planning, set-up, site management, checking ID’s, selling beer tickets, hand out maps and answer general questions, assisting food vendors, and clean up/tear-down.
Howell Art Project
The Howell Art Project will be revamped and ALL NEW for 2019! Be part of the planning team, which meets once or twice a month to plan out the entire event, or sign up for event set-up, tear-down, assistance with murals, and more.
Food Truck Rally
Volunteer roles include: set-up (tables, chairs, pop-up tents, etc.), checking ID’s, selling beer tickets, clean-up and tear down.
Promotional Material Distributors
Deliver newsletters and important promotional materials to our downtown businesses, discuss their upcoming events and promotions, then bring that information back to Howell Main Street staff for use in social media and other marketing sources.
Assist with making sure our list of businesses is up-to-date. Each volunteer will be assigned a block or two in downtown and will visit each business to make sure we have accurate details including name of business, address, phone #, website, contact information, etc.
Help with volunteer recruitment events and initiatives, including staffing informational booths at major events, distributing literature, and more.
Help Tell our Downtown Story! Volunteer videographers help promote Howell Main Street as an organization, our events, “Featured Friday” videos, etc.
Writer - Newsletters, press releases, website, etc.
Do you have a passion for writing? We are always looking for volunteers to help draft articles for our monthly e-newsletter, quarterly Merchant Newsletter, press releases, copy for our website, and social media.
Help create logos and marketing pieces for projects and events, assist with typesetting newsletters, and use your creative skills to tell our story loud and proud!
We are always in need of volunteers to help us set up and tear down events, sell tickets, check ID’s, unveil artwork, etc. The list is endless. If you can only give a few hours throughout the year, special events are the way to go!
